Detailed Description
The European Media Art Platform (EMAP) Residencies 2027 provide artists with the opportunity to develop new creative work through a two-month production residency at one of 15 participating host organisations across Europe.
The programme is co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme and supports artists working across digital art, media art, robotic art, bio art and related technology- and science-based creative practices.
For applicants interested in Greece, the Onassis Foundation in Athens is one of the participating EMAP host organisations. The artist selected for the 2027 EMAP residency at the Onassis Foundation will also become part of Onassis AiR and Onassis ONX.
Applicants do not apply exclusively to Greece. They apply to the EMAP consortium and indicate their preferred host organisations in order of priority. Applicants interested in Athens can therefore rank the Onassis Foundation among their preferred locations.
Collaboration is a core feature of the 2027 programme. Applicants may apply as artist duos or collectives, or submit a collaborative project involving another artist, scientist or creative partner. A collaborating partner does not necessarily need to be confirmed when the initial application is submitted.
Selected artists receive financial support, production funding, accommodation, travel support and access to professional technical facilities. Their work may also gain further visibility through exhibitions, presentations and EMAP’s international network of more than 150 partner organisations.
