Youth Changemakers Summit 2026 in Budapest, Hungary

The Youth Changemakers Summit (YCS) 2026 is the flagship international leadership gathering organised by the Global Institute for Impactful Change (GIIC). It will take place in Budapest, Hungary, from 2–5 December 2026 and is designed to bring together emerging leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, students, policymakers and social-impact advocates from different countries and professional backgrounds.

The four-day summit focuses on leadership, diplomacy, innovation and international collaboration. According to GIIC, participants will engage in keynote addresses, diplomatic dialogues, interactive leadership workshops, policy discussions, innovation and social entrepreneurship activities, team challenges, networking forums and cross-cultural collaboration. A cultural exploration component in Budapest is also included in the programme.

The summit aims to give participants opportunities to exchange perspectives, develop leadership and communication capabilities, collaborate on real-world challenges and build an international network. GIIC states that the event is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and brings together delegates from a broad range of countries and backgrounds.

YCS 2026 has 30 Fully Funded and 40 Partially Funded competitive seats. GIIC also offers separate Invitation Letter, Summit Access and Self-Funded participation routes; these are paid routes and should not be confused with the competitive funded categories.

Selection for the funded places is merit-based. GIIC states that applicants are reviewed on leadership potential, social impact, motivation and vision, achievements, communication skills and contribution to diversity and global representation.

• Applicants must be 16–48 years old.
• Applicants from all nationalities are encouraged to apply.
• Applicants from all academic disciplines may apply.
• Applications are welcomed from students, graduates, young professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers, educators, policy enthusiasts, community leaders, volunteers, social entrepreneurs, climate advocates, human-rights activists and NGO representatives.
• Previous participation in an international conference is not required.
• No specific university degree, GPA threshold or minimum number of years of work experience is stated on the official eligibility section.
• Applicants should be able to demonstrate qualities relevant to the merit-based selection process, including leadership promise, motivation, achievements, social/community engagement and communication skills.

GIIC states that applications are reviewed holistically using the following criteria:

• Leadership Potential: Demonstrated initiative, responsibility, teamwork, problem-solving and positive leadership within academic, professional, nonprofit, volunteer or community settings.
• Social Impact & Community Engagement: Contributions through volunteering, advocacy, entrepreneurship, awareness activities, nonprofit initiatives, environmental action, education, public service or other social-impact work.
• Motivation & Vision: Clarity about why the applicant wants to attend and how the summit connects with personal, professional or community goals.
• Achievements: Academic, professional, entrepreneurial, research, innovation, policy or extracurricular accomplishments.
• Communication Skills: Ability to express ideas, listen to different perspectives and collaborate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Diversity & Global Representation: GIIC seeks participants from different countries, communities, academic disciplines, professional fields and social backgrounds.

• Develop leadership, diplomacy and communication skills through an international summit environment.
