Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Scholarships 2027

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) are integrated international Master’s programmes jointly designed and delivered by groups of higher education institutions. Each programme involves at least three higher education institutions from three different countries, with at least two participating institutions located in EU Member States or countries associated with Erasmus+.

Students study through a structured international programme that may include coursework, research, traineeships, thesis preparation and defence. Erasmus Mundus programmes also include compulsory physical mobility, with students completing at least two study periods in two countries different from their country of residence at enrolment.

Successful graduates receive either a joint degree issued on behalf of participating universities or multiple degrees issued by consortium institutions. Programmes normally carry 60, 90 or 120 ECTS credits.

The European Union provides competitive Erasmus Mundus scholarships for outstanding applicants. Under the current rules, scholarship holders receive €1,400 per month for the full duration of the Master’s programme, normally 12, 18 or 24 months. The scholarship contribution is intended to cover travel, visa, installation and subsistence costs. Scholarship holders cannot be charged tuition fees or other mandatory participation costs.

There is no single programme called the “Erasmus Mundus Scholarship 2027”. Applicants choose an individual Erasmus Mundus Joint Master and apply directly to the consortium responsible for that programme. The official catalogue also warns that some listed programmes may no longer offer Erasmus Mundus scholarships because their EU funding period is ending, so scholarship availability must be checked for the specific 2027 intake.

There is no universal document checklist for every Erasmus Mundus Joint Master. Official requirements are determined by each consortium.

Applicants must normally provide documentation demonstrating that they meet the programme’s admission requirements, such as:

• Evidence of a completed Bachelor’s degree or first higher education qualification.
• Proof of final-year Bachelor’s studies if the degree has not yet been completed.
• Evidence of an officially recognised Bachelor’s-equivalent qualification, where applicable.
• Language-proficiency evidence where required by the selected programme.
• Additional academic or supporting documents required by the individual consortium.
