Detailed Description

The RISE Germany Summer Internship 2027 is an international research programme administered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). RISE stands for Research Internships in Science and Engineering. The programme is supported by Germany's Federal Foreign Office and collaborating organisations.

It provides undergraduate students studying at universities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland with opportunities to gain practical research experience in Germany.

Through the programme, participants are matched with research projects at German universities and research institutions. Interns work alongside doctoral researchers or researchers at universities of applied sciences, contributing to scientific investigations and experimental work.

Projects cover natural sciences, life sciences, engineering, computer science and related interdisciplinary fields. Depending on the host institution, participants may gain experience in laboratory research, scientific analysis, experimental techniques and other research activities.

RISE Germany is designed to introduce students to Germany's research environment while allowing them to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting. Participants also receive academic supervision and opportunities to learn about research and postgraduate study in Germany.

Approximately 300 scholarships are available annually, although the final number of placements depends on funding arrangements and participating institutions.

The programme is particularly relevant to undergraduate students interested in research careers, advanced scientific studies and international academic experience.
