Detailed Description

The HENNGE Global Internship Program, commonly known as HENNGE GIP, is an international software engineering training programme conducted on site at HENNGE’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

The programme is designed to help aspiring and early-career software engineers strengthen their technical foundations in an international, English-speaking working environment. Interns work closely with HENNGE engineers and receive direct mentorship while completing practical software development assignments.

Applicants can choose between two main pathways. The Full-Stack Engineering Pathway covers back-end development, front-end development and basic DevOps using technologies such as Python, Go and TypeScript. Participants also gain experience with cloud-integrated applications and AWS.

The Front-End Engineering Pathway focuses on TypeScript and frameworks such as React or Vue, including areas such as state management, data fetching, application development and integration with back-end services and cloud infrastructure.

The internship normally lasts 4–6 weeks and is full-time, Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00 JST. The programme is conducted in English, and Japanese-language proficiency is not required.

HENNGE GIP is also connected to the company’s pre-hiring process. Strong participants who are interested in continuing their careers in Japan may potentially be considered for future full-time employment opportunities. This is not guaranteed.

Applicants should understand that HENNGE explicitly describes GIP as an unpaid internship. However, participants receive significant financial and practical support to help cover the costs associated with attending the programme in Japan.
