Detailed Description

The HSC Youth Ambassador Program 2027 is organised by the Hamburg Sustainability Conference and is designed to bring young sustainability leaders into international discussions on sustainable development.

Youth Ambassadors are not simply conference attendees. Selected participants may contribute to panels, workshops, moderations and high-level discussions alongside decision-makers, experts and leaders from different sectors.

The programme focuses particularly on young leaders from the Global South who are already creating measurable impact in their communities. Applicants are expected to demonstrate practical involvement in sustainability initiatives and the ability to mobilise others around sustainability challenges.

Selected ambassadors become involved before the main conference through programme activities and peer engagement. The current cycle also includes the HSC Youth Roundtable Series from 7–11 December 2026, followed by the Hamburg Sustainability Conference in Germany on 31 May–1 June 2027.

The Hamburg Sustainability Conference itself brings together leaders from government, business, academia, civil society and international organisations to accelerate progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. HSC is a joint initiative involving Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, UNDP, the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the Michael Otto Foundation
